We believe online content costs money and time. Advertising is one way to fund the content, but there is a better one. Using Minutesworth, you contribute directly to the website or app, based on the time you spend, and the value of the content to you. You just install a browser extension to start contributing to pubs. Rest is automatic.
Why Use Minutesworth?
Privacy friendly
Minutesworth is not interested in your browsing history. Your exact history stays on your machine, we only get end of month aggregate stats, so we can send the payouts. You can provide blacklist for sites you never want to pay for (psst, you can also use incognito for this).
Publisher friendly
We believe creating quality content takes time, and costs money. That's why we do not believe in ad blocking, it's just too intrusive. Instead, we provide additional source of revenue, one funded directly by the user.
We keep the balance accessible to publisher for 6 months, in case they don't know us, so when they sign up, they get their full balance, after 30% Minutesworth's cut. Pub never signed up? Your money goes to a non-profit of your choosing. Win-win.
No paywall content
Content providers are increasingly putting their content behind paywalls, even when the user is only interested in one or two articles. Minutesworth fixes this problem by measuring the value of the content to the user, and paying the publisher the content's actual worth.
Publishers are given an API to see if a given visitor is a Minutesworth subscriber, so they can show you premium content without the need for login. They do not get any other information.
